Augusta Concrete Patios Ashlar slate is the pattern of irregular rectangular blocks in mixed sizes, and it is the most forgiving stamp on an awkwardly shaped slab. Free on-site quote, usually within two working days.

Because the blocks are already different sizes, a cut at the edge of the slab reads as another block rather than as a broken stone. On a patio with curves and corners that is a real advantage.
The slate texture itself is fairly shallow and even, so it holds a sealer well and does not trap as much dirt as a heavy stone texture does.
Ashlar suits the irregular back-yard shapes on the older Augusta lots, where a patio has to work around a chimney, a bay or a mature tree rather than being a clean rectangle.
The mats are laid in a running arrangement with the joints staggered, and the crew keeps track of orientation so the same block size does not land next to itself repeatedly.
Control joints are placed along a grout line in the pattern, so the saw cut disappears into the layout instead of splitting a block in half.
Two colours give it depth: a base in the stone tone and a release in a darker or greyer shade that settles into the grout lines and the surface texture.
Borders in a soldier course or a contrasting band define the edge and hide the transition where the field pattern gets cut off.
Mid-range among stamped patterns. It uses standard mats and standard colour work, and the price moves with the number of colours and whether there is a border.
Mid-range among stamped patterns, priced within the $12–$20 per square foot range by colour count and whether there is a border.
The recognisable failure on ashlar is a visible repeat where the crew ran the same three mats in the same order across the whole slab. On a large area it reads as wallpaper.
On a large Augusta patio a three-mat repeat becomes obvious from a second-floor window, and there is no fixing it afterwards.
We cover Augusta, Columbia County and the South Carolina side of the CSRA, including and 34 more areas.
It is the best of the common patterns for it, because a cut block still looks like a block.
Two at least. A base tone plus a release that settles into the grout lines is what gives it depth.
Along a grout line in the pattern, so the cut reads as part of the layout.
