Augusta Concrete Patios A driveway quote is four numbers added together, and knowing which one is which is what lets you compare two quotes that look different. Free on-site quote, usually within two working days.

The four are removal of what is there now, the base, the slab itself, and anything decorative. Only the last of those is optional.
Removal is the one that surprises people. Breaking out, loading and hauling an old reinforced driveway can be the largest single line before any new concrete has been ordered.
In Augusta the base line on a driveway quote carries more weight than it would elsewhere, because the sub-grade is plastic clay rather than sand or gravel.
The slab line moves with thickness and reinforcement. Going from four inches to six is a fifty percent increase in concrete volume, and it is the right call wherever a truck, an RV or a trailer will sit.
The base line moves with what is found underneath. A sub-grade that has a soft spot, an uncompacted utility trench or water running through it needs work, and no honest quote can price that before the old slab is off.
Decorative finishes are priced per square foot on top of the plain slab, and the order from cheapest is broom, then colour, then salt or exposed aggregate, then stamped.
Area works in your favour. Setup, forming and mobilisation are close to fixed, so a large driveway costs less per square foot than a small one and combining it with a walk or a patio in one pour is cheaper than two visits.
Ask any two quotes to state the slab thickness, the reinforcement type and where it sits in the slab, the base depth, and the joint spacing. Once those four are on paper, quotes stop being mysterious and start being comparable.
Plain broom driveways here run $6–$10 per square foot and stamped $10–$18 per square foot. Removal of an old reinforced slab is separate and often the largest single line.
A quote meaningfully below the others usually differs in thickness, in mesh laid on the ground rather than on chairs, or in base depth. All three are invisible the day the job finishes.
Two Augusta quotes that differ by a third usually differ in base depth, which on this clay is the line that decides whether you do it again in eight years.
We cover Augusta, Columbia County and the South Carolina side of the CSRA, including and 34 more areas.
Almost always thickness, reinforcement placement or base depth. Ask all three quotes to state those numbers and the difference becomes visible.
It should be a separate line. On an old reinforced driveway it can be the biggest single cost in the job.
Less. Setup and forming are close to fixed, so the per-foot rate falls as the area grows.
