The original walks on Olde Town houses were poured thin, straight onto the clay, with no stone beneath them. Seventy years later most of them have done the same thing: settled at one end, lifted at a tree root, and cracked into panels that no longer sit level with each other.

Permits in Richmond County

Anything in the public right of way — the sidewalk across your frontage and the driveway apron where it meets the street — needs a permit from Richmond County and an inspection afterwards. Work behind the property line generally does not. We are licensed in Georgia and carry certificates for both states. We check which applies before quoting.

Questions we get asked

Can you match the concrete that is already there?

Not exactly, and anyone who promises otherwise is guessing. Concrete cures to its final colour over years and a new panel beside a forty-year-old one will read lighter for a season or two. What we can do is choose where the new work stops — at a joint, at a step, at a change of direction — so the difference reads as deliberate rather than as a patch.

Will the work need approval?

In a historic district, exterior changes visible from the street can carry review conditions. That usually affects the finish and the layout rather than whether you can pour at all. We flag it at the quoting visit so it is handled before anything starts.

The mixer cannot reach the back of the house. What then?

Then the concrete goes by barrow, and we price that openly rather than discovering it on the morning of the pour. It adds labour, not risk — the finished slab is the same.
