My driveway is original. Can it be saved?
Sometimes. Settlement is fixable, the slab is lifted back to grade and the void beneath is filled. Cracking straight across with one side sitting higher than the other is the ground moving, and no surface repair fixes that. We can tell you which you have by looking at it.
Is it worth widening rather than replacing?
If the existing slab is sound, adding a strip alongside is much cheaper than a full replacement. The join will show, because new and old concrete never match, but it is a clean line rather than a patch.
