Augusta Concrete Patios pours patios, driveways, walkways, steps and pool decks throughout Forest Hills. Licensed and insured in Georgia. Free on-site quote, usually within two working days.

The driveways poured with these houses are now sixty or seventy years old. Most were four inches on bare subgrade with no stone base, because that was normal then. They have done well to last this long, and what we see now is the same pattern: cracking across the middle, an apron breaking up at the street, and panels that have settled against each other.
Two of those are repairable and one is not. Settlement can often be lifted back to grade for a fraction of replacement. Cracking that runs the full width with a height difference between the sides means the ground beneath has moved, and filling it just hides the problem.
What we are asked for most here: Driveway replacement, apron repair and slab lifting.
Anything in the public right of way — the sidewalk across your frontage and the driveway apron where it meets the street — needs a permit from Richmond County and an inspection afterwards. Work behind the property line generally does not. We are licensed in Georgia and carry certificates for both states. We check which applies before quoting.
Sometimes. Settlement is fixable — the slab is lifted back to grade and the void beneath is filled. Cracking straight across with one side sitting higher than the other is the ground moving, and no surface repair fixes that. We can tell you which you have by looking at it.
If the existing slab is sound, adding a strip alongside is much cheaper than a full replacement. The join will show, because new and old concrete never match, but it is a clean line rather than a patch.
